Passenger car scrappage bonus in Finland
A private individual can apply to Traficom for a scrappage bonus between 1.1.2026 and 31.12.2027 when scrapping a passenger car first registered in 2015 or earlier and buying a new one. The amount depends on the new car's power source.
If the new car runs on electricity or hydrogen and its carbon dioxide emissions are 0 g/km, the bonus is €2,500.
If the new car's power source is something else and its carbon dioxide emissions are at most 140 g/km (WLTP), the bonus is €2,000. That amount is for other power sources, not for electric or hydrogen cars.
The bonus can be granted only if appropriation reserved in the state budget for paying it is available.
