Amounts of Croatia's EV grant

For an electric passenger car the Fund pays at most 9,000 euro or 7,000 euro, depending on the price band, and never more than 40% of eligible costs.

These amounts come from call EnU-2/26, which the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund published on 9 October 2026.

Amounts for an electric passenger car

For an electric M1 car the Fund pays at most 9,000 euro when the vehicle price with VAT is up to 35,000 euro, and at most 7,000 euro above that, up to a maximum vehicle price of 62,500 euro with VAT. The Fund awards the lower of the prescribed maximum and 40% of eligible costs.

In the Fund's application form (Annex 1), the field for the requested grant is calculated automatically as the lower of the maximum amount for the price band and 40% of the vehicle price entered with VAT. This is the form's calculation of the amount requested. The amount paid is set by the Fund when it processes the payment claim, on the basis of the final selling price shown on the invoice and the eligible costs actually established, and may be lower.

Budget

The total available non-repayable funds are 20,000,000 euro, and each person can receive funds for at most one vehicle. The Fund estimates that about 3000 vehicles will be registered under the call and reserves the right not to award all available funds.

Payout

The Fund pays in one payment, on the basis of the contract signed by both sides, within 30 days of receiving complete and correct payment documentation. The payment claim must be submitted by 30 April 2028.

The amount paid cannot exceed the amount approved in the contract. If the vehicle bought is worth less than the value stated in the application, the Fund may pay a lower amount, in line with the eligible costs actually established.
