Kinoumai Ilektrika III
Greece's Kinoumai Ilektrika third-cycle action gives individuals a 3,000 euro bonus for a new battery-electric car with a retail price before taxes of up to 50,000 euro.
The action
The action "Kinoumai Ilektrika - Gamma cycle" was announced by joint ministerial decision 132625/03.06.2024, published in Government Gazette B' 3076 on 3 June 2024. It is managed by the Autonomous Electromobility Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and it applies throughout the Greek territory.
Category A beneficiaries are natural persons who carry out no business activity, hold a tax number (AFM) and have reached the age of 18 when they submit the application. Each can be a beneficiary for the purchase or lease of one purely electric car and may submit one and only one application.
Support for a new electric car
For applications submitted after the second amendment (Government Gazette B' 4199 of 31 July 2025) took effect, and for expenses made from 7 June 2025, the ecological bonus for a purely electric car with a maximum retail price before taxes of 50,000 euro is 3,000 euro. Cars with a retail price before taxes above 50,000 euro are not subsidised. Under the same rule, scrapping an old car is optional and is rewarded with a further 1,500 euro.
Funds and application period
The total budget is 76,000,000 euro, of which 48,000,000 euro is for Category A. The sixth amendment (Government Gazette B' 4349 of 14 July 2026) sets 31 December 2026 as the date until which applications are submitted. The duration of the action may be shortened if the available funds are covered earlier, and payment to beneficiaries may not go beyond 31 December 2027.
Applications are examined on a first in, first served basis, and the possibility of submitting applications is provided until the maximum budget is covered.
What this page covers
The same action also covers two-wheelers, three-wheelers and bicycles. This page covers only individuals who buy or lease a passenger car (category M1).
