Auto+ aid amounts for private individuals
How the aid of Spain's Programa Auto+ for private individuals (Línea 1) is calculated under the 2026 call: a maximum amount for a passenger car and a cumulative percentage of that maximum from an electric, an economic and a European criterion.
What this page covers
This page explains how the aid per vehicle is calculated under the 2026 call for Línea 1 of the Programa Auto+, the line for private individuals who carry out no economic activity. It covers passenger cars (category M1), pure electric and electrified alike. It gives the maximum amount and the three criteria of Annex II of the call order. It gives no estimate for a particular car, and it says nothing on whether applications can still be submitted or on what is left of the call's budget.
Maximum aid for a passenger car
The call sets a maximum aid of €4,500 for a passenger car (category M1). The aid actually granted is calculated cumulatively and cannot exceed that maximum.
How the amount is calculated
For each vehicle the aid is a percentage of the maximum, built up from three criteria and limited to that maximum. Only vehicles with the CERO environmental label can receive aid.
- Electric criterion (E1): 50 percent of the maximum for pure electric vehicles (battery electric or fuel cell) and 25 percent for range-extender electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
- Economic criterion (E2): for cars priced above €35,000 and up to €45,000, 15 percent of the maximum; for cars priced up to €35,000, 25 percent. Prices are invoice prices including all extras, accessories and sale services, excluding taxes and after commercial discounts.
- European criterion (E3): 15 percent of the maximum if the final assembly and finishing of the vehicle before marketing took place in at least one industrial facility in the EU. Whether it applies depends on the White List, described below.
European criterion and the White List
The European criterion can add a further 10 percent for the battery. For range-extender electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles it applies if part of the battery manufacturing, including at least the assembly of the battery packs, takes place in the EU. For pure electric vehicles all three of the following conditions must be met:
- Part of the battery manufacturing, including at least the assembly of the battery packs, takes place in the EU.
- At least one of the battery packs, modules or cells is made in a country other than the largest third-country supplier identified in the latest Commission communication under Regulation (EU) 2024/1735.
- The mercury content of the battery is significantly below the maximum allowed by Regulation (EU) 2023/1542.
The additional percentages of the European criterion depend on the Programa Auto+ White List. After a request is admitted, the management system consults the White List to determine the intensity of the aid. A vehicle whose model is on the list with the declaration of European assembly and finishing can be eligible for the additional 15 percent, and with the declaration of European battery content as well for both additional percentages. A vehicle whose model is not on the list cannot receive them. The decree adds that this additional funding can be granted only to models on the list at the time of the application. The list is published on the ministry's aid portal and updated periodically.
What this page does and does not settle
This page gives the percentages and the maximum as the call order states them. It does not calculate an amount for a particular car, and it does not say which models are on the White List, which is published separately. The invoice conditions, including a discount of at least €1,000 for new passenger cars (M1), are on the eligibility page.
